**In short:** Leading Future's Academic Research Internships give undergraduates and postgraduates real research experience in the UK and China. UK opportunities are with research teams at universities such as Oxford, Cambridge and UCL, subject to open positions, while ALIT lab training with STEMHUB offers 4–8 weeks at platforms such as Zhejiang University in China. Recommendation letters depend on the supervisor's independent evaluation and are not guaranteed.

Leading Future's academic research internships help undergraduates and postgraduates experience real research and discover where their academic interests lie. In the UK, opportunities are explored with research teams at universities such as Oxford, Cambridge and UCL, as well as Reading, Surrey, Leicester, Plymouth, Birmingham, Liverpool, Nottingham, York and Queen's University. Tasks, duration, format and language and subject requirements are set by each department, research team or project, and placements depend on current openings and project review.

In China, STEMHUB and Leading Future run 前研集 Advanced Lab Immersive Training: 4–8 weeks of in-person research training on live projects at platforms including Zhejiang University and its institutes, national laboratories and Chinese Academy of Sciences institutes. It spans five frontier fields — intelligent systems and robotics; integrated circuits, chips and precision instruments; new energy and materials; life sciences and precision medicine; and computational science and industry large-model development — with each participant supported by a lead mentor, a project mentor and an operations mentor.

**Who it's for:** Undergraduate and postgraduate students, particularly in science and engineering, who want genuine research experience to inform further study or a research career.
